MEET THE ARTIST

UC John Favour

John Favour Uchechukwu, known as UC Arts, is a Nigerian artist who uses acrylic and oil on canvas to explore human character and behavior.
Inspired by people's attitudes and traits, he combines Black Art, Monochrome painting, and Realism, with a signature "Zip effect" to highlight contrasts and duality.
UC Arts often uses animals or human figures to symbolize specific qualities, aiming to reveal both the outer and inner beauty of his subjects. Through his work, he seeks to offer insight into personal growth and societal transformation.
He made his first debut at the de Cre ace exhibition, where his work gained recognition and has been featured in magazines. He hopes to captivate audiences with his thought-provoking artwork, inspiring them to reflect on the deeper layers of human character and the beauty found in both strength and vulnerability.UC Arts originally studied Pure Chemistry, but his passion for art has always been at the forefront of his creative journey. Rather than following a conventional path, he channels his scientific background into a unique approach to visual storytelling, where observation and analysis play a critical role.UC Arts draws major inspiration from human attitudes and behaviors, noting both strengths and weaknesses. His work often reflects his understanding of character flaws, which he seeks to explore and resolve through his art. By using animals or human figures as muses, he symbolizes specific qualities or traits, creating visual representations of his ideologies and observations. His work is deeply personal, driven by his keen insight into the human condition, and aims to provoke reflection and self-awareness in his audience.

UC ARTS blends Black Art with Monochrome painting, utilizing a striking Zip effect to create bold contrasts and visual demarcation within his works. His pieces resonate with elements of Realism, capturing authentic human emotions and experiences through meticulous detail. By employing acrylic and oil on canvas, he creates dynamic textures and depth, allowing each artwork to convey profound narratives that reflect the complexity of human character.
